As the manager of the Adkins Property Group of RE/MAX Executive Realty in Charlotte, NC It is hard for me to believe that I have been selling in this industry for twenty years. I work in the Charlotte metro market including Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, Matthews, Ft. Mill, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson and Denver. I love this business. I have met some of the finest and most interesting people in the buyers and sellers that I have represented. What I would say I specialize in is working with sellers and buyers. About 60% of my business is working with sellers, helping sellers market their properties, negotiating offers, negotiating repairs and handling the repairs and finally getting to the closing table and having a successful transaction. The other 40% is working with buyers and usually comes from referrals, past customers and clients, friends and family. I think I am happiest at the closing table when I see that my client has achieved their goals and now can move on to the next chapter of their life. I graduated with a degree in psychology and education and sometimes think that this has been valuable in several ways. First, there is some hand holding in nearly every sale and I try very hard to not only be an advocate for my clients but also to remain a comforting and reassuring presence as well. I taught for several years and that has helped me to keep my clients informed of what they can expect at each and every point in the transaction. Now there are sometimes surprises in a transaction and I deal with these calmly and to the best of my ability and always keep my clients informed and educated. My primary focus in this business is integrity and this carries over into how I live my personal life as well. I think that in this business, sometimes, people lose track of what is really important. I will talk a client out of a transaction if it jeopardizes the integrity of anyone involved. And I think that while maybe this is not unique, it is the way that I live and how I want the world to be. Many agents have interacted with me over the last twenty years and most, no I would say all, would agree that I treat them just the way I would like to be treated. We are not talking about rocket science here. We are talking about selling homes but a home is where most people build their memories and where they make the largest investment that most of them will ever make. It is really important to be sensitive to what they are looking for and to do the best job possible to make everything fall into place for them as they look for a home.
